FALL RIVER…Norman Arthur Pigeon, 88, passed away Sunday October 7, 2012. He was the widower of Nellie (Krupa) Pigeon.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Edward and Diana (Belanger) Pigeon and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in 1941 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a #1 operator for the former Shell Oil Plant retiring in 1985 after more than 30 years. He enjoyed day trips to Twin Rivers, Newport Grand, the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Celtics, the New England Patriots, the Boston Bruins, his nieces and nephews sporting events. Survivors include a Daughter: Donna Pigeon of Fall River, a Sister: Dorothy Rivard Predy of Reno NV, 4 nieces: Kathleen Cabeceiras of Somerset, Patricia Taveira of Somerset, Christine Halliwell of Dighton, Tracey Goncalves of Dighton, a nephew: Michael Taveira of Dighton and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews Noah Halliwell, Gabrielle Halliwell, Riley Goncalves, Addyson Goncalves, Roeyn Goncalves, Ashlee Albin, Brittanee Albin, Courtney Albin, T.J. Albin, Jessica Albin, Karissa Albin, Joey Arruda, Jimmy Arruda and many other great nieces and great nephews. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to will be Friday at 9A.M. from the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 709 Broadway Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at Holy Trinity Church 951 Stafford Rd Fall River. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8pm.
