Obituary

Albert B. Peterson, 86, of Boylston passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bob Bourassa, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his companion of more than 25 years, Sonya Kaletski Akaydin and his children, daughter Nancy and her husband Doug Wahl of North Eastham and Havertown, PA; daughter Gwynne and husband John Kaletski of Eastham; daughter Sandy and husband Bob Bourassa of Boylston; and son James and wife Guinevere of Webster. Al’s grandchildren include Carla and husband Ken Markizon, Emily and James Wahl, Becky and Husband Chad Spalthoff, John, Katie, and Elizabeth Kaletski, Robert Bourassa III, Tim and his wife Theresa Bourassa, Hailey, Anthony, and Amelia Peterson. Great grandchildren include Andrew, Nicholas, and Patrick Markizon, Olivia Bourassa, and Peyton Spalthoff. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Lovell Peterson.
Mr. Peterson served his country in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was a strong believer in giving back to his community. Al was a charter member of the Boylston Lions Club, a founding member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, past president of the Scandinavian Athletic Club, member of Boylston Fire Dept., the Masons, Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, Retired Men’s Club of Greendale, and many other organizations.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Boylston on Saturday, October 13, at 11:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon to celebrate his life and share memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boylston Lions Club, P.O. Box 50, Boylston MA 01505 or Boylston Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 634, Boylston MA 01505. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester is directing arrangements.
