Velma Harper Lott, 92, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Harris Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lott was born December 26, 1919 in Irwin County to the late Loranzo “Ranze” William John Harper and the late Minnie Bell Anderson Harper. Mrs. Lott lived in Irwin and Ben Hill County most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth Lott of Fitzgerald, Keith & Donna Lott of Fitzgerald, Darryl Lott of Abbeville; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grand children; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister: Martha Towson of Conyers; brothers: Elmer and Joy Harper of Jekyll Island, Huey and Pat Harper of Conyers. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Clifton Lott; sons: Lorrie, Leon; daughters-in-law: Lottie and Demarris Lott.
