WEBSTER – Edward J. Kozlowski, 76, a longtime machinist, died Friday, June 4, after a long illness.
He leaves 2 sons and their wives, Michael E. and Christine Kozlowski of Millbury and Richard C. and Helen Kozlowski of Ledyard, CT; a daughter and her husband, Katherine A. and Daniel Rausch of New Haven, CT; his former wife, Virginia (King) Kozlowski; a brother, Zigmund Kozlowski of Dudley; a sister, Loretta Arpin of Southbridge; 2 grandsons, Joseph and Jeffrey Kozlowski and a granddaughter, Heather Damian; his companion, Nancy Greene; nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Sebastian, Louis and Chester Kozlowski, and a grandson, Max Rausch, predeceased him.
He was born in Dudley, a son of Joseph and Magdalena (Brodowik) Kozlowski. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1946.
Mr. Kozlowski was a machinist at Whitin Machine Works in Northbridge for about 20 years, and then at Lodding Engineering, now called Thermo Electron, in Auburn for another 20 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He enjoyed yard sales and flea markets.
The funeral will be held Monday, June 7, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 8:45 to 9:30 AM Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Saint Joseph School, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570.
