Elaine C. (Fontaine) Rioux, 70, of Westport, died peacefully at home with her family by her side, Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was wife of the late William L. Rioux.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Albert J. Fontaine, Sr. and the late Rita C. (Thibault) Fontaine, she had lived in Westport for most of her life. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1960. Prior to retirement, she was the Town of Westport Dog Officer from 1978 until 2003. Mrs. Rioux was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport and was the Treasurer of the Westport High School Hall of Fame. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.
Survivors include 3 sons: Brian W. Rioux and his wife Diana of Westport, Darrin W. Rioux and his wife Madeline of Westport and Kevin W. Rioux and his wife Nancy of Westport; a daughter: Monique E. Jones and her husband Rodney of Newport, RI; 2 brothers: Robert L. Fontaine and Albert J. Fontaine, Jr.; 3 sisters: Blanche R. Aguiar, Lorraine B. Monroe and Anne I. Dias; 6 grandchildren: Jessica C. Rioux, Zachary D. Rioux, Jeremy K. Rioux, Avante A. Jones, Brendon M. Borges and Gianna R. Borges; and several nieces and nephews; and her devoted sister-in-law that was by her side every step of the way: Claudette Cote.
She was sister of the late Beatrice E. Vasconcellos.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 at St. George Church, Westport at 9:30 A.M.
