Paul E. Viau, Sr., 85, formerly of Smithfield, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Claire M. (Nadeau) Viau and the late Phyllis I. (Barr) Viau.
Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Alfred H. and Lillian (Blais) Viau. He was a Service trainer for Olivetti before retiring. He was a WWII Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his sons: Paul E. Viau, Jr. of Medway, MA, George B. Viau of Providence, John C. Viau of Marion, MA, Henry A. Viau of Rochester, NY and Peter P. Viau of Stormville, NY, 11 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren and a sister Louise Chaput of Smithfield. He was the brother of the late Charles Viau.
Funeral Monday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial will be private. Visitation Monday 7:30-9am. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Steere House, 100 Borden Street, Providence RI 02903.
