Obituary

Anthony Dominic Ventimiglia, 86, of Manchester died September 29, 2012 at the Courville in Manchester.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 4, 1926, the son of Flippo and Audenzia (Morreale) Ventimiglia.
Toward the end of WWII he was drafted and served in the US Army. While he was training for the invasion of Japan as a radio operator/forward observer, the war ended. Anthony was then deployed to Germany as part of the European Army of Occupation.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the New York City Department of Education as an industrial arts teacher for many years. While teaching, he continued his decades long employment with the New York Daily News as a journeyman Stereotyper in their Brooklyn printing plant.
Anthony enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and boating. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Maine and enjoyed many precious family moments at their cabin in the woods. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who lived life to the fullest.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jean (LaSala) Ventimiglia of Manchester; his daughter, Nancy Harmon and husband Glendon of Weare, NH; one son, Philip Ventimiglia and wife Julia of Herndon, VA; his grandchildren, Jonathan and Ethan Harmon, Anthony and Alyssa Ventimiglia; great-grandchildren, Talia and Maximus Harmon; one sister, Rose Riggio of NY.
Funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family.
