Obituary

CHICOPEE – Karen A. (Hayduk) Laughlin, 49, of Chicopee was Called Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 25, 1963, a beloved daughter of Margaret M. “Marge” (Pavlo) Hayduk of Chicopee and the late Robert A. Hayduk who was Called Home on October 21, 1996. She was raised in Trumbull, Connecticut, graduated from Trumbull High School and lived there for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1987. She furthered her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She was employed for the past 20 years at Milton Bradley, which is now Hasbro, in East Longmeadow. During her leisure time, Karen loved dancing, shopping for clothes and shoes, and being with her family and her many friends. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Besides her beloved mother, she leaves her devoted husband and soul mate, Andrew J. Laughlin. They were married on October 24, 1987 at Saint Catherine Church in Trumbull, Connecticut and were blessed with nearly 25 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving daughters whom she adored, Kathleen M. Laughlin and her friend, Steven Poirier, and Kimberly A. Laughlin and her friend, Jeremy LaFleur, all of Chicopee; her dear brother, Robert M. Hayduk and his wife, Jill, of Norwalk, CT, and their daughter who was her cherished niece, Emma Hayduk of Simsbury, CT; her dear sister, Kathleen M. Hayduk of Stratford, CT; her dear father-in-law and mother-in-law of the Laughlin family, Martell R. and Patricia Laughlin of Chicopee; her dear brothers-in-law of the Laughlin family, Daniel Laughlin and his wife, Terri, William Laughlin and his wife, Lori, Stephen Laughlin and his wife, Erica, and Thomas Laughlin; her dear sister-in-law of the Laughlin family, Kathleen Laughlin and her partner, Marc Benoit; and many additional dear nephews, nieces and extended family members. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, October 8, 2012 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association Founders Affiliate, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
