Obituary

Irene Emma (Johnson) Wunderlich, age 95, of Salem, NH, passed away Wednesday, September 26th at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, MA.

She was born and educated in Lawrence, MA and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. She was a resident of Salem for the past 2 years, formerly of St. Petersburg, Fl and Methuen, MA.

Irene was a supervisor in the Mortgage Dept. of the First Essex Bank in Lawrence, MA, where she retired in 1980. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the ladies auxiliary of the VFW Post 1549 in Lawrence, MA. She was a member of the Mother of Twins Club and was a former Den Mother. Irene volunteered at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fl, for over 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, boating, and summers at Lake Winnipesaukee and Ossipee, NH.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Wunderlich, Jr.

She is survived by her sons:
Edward “Eddie” III and his wife Karen Wunderlich of Sandown, NH
Henry “Hank” and his wife Donna Wunderlich of Danville, NH and Frostproof, FL
William “Bill” Wunderlich and his wife Nancy Weiser of Cottonwood, UT

Twin Daughters: Barbara and her husband Douglas Bunker of Methuen, MA
Irene and her husband Moustafa Nour of Salem, NH

Brother: Donald Johnson of Goffstown, NH

Sister in Law: Doryce Wunderlich of Methuen, MA

7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews

A celebration of life Mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 6th at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Lawrence, MA. There are no calling hours. Interment is private and to be held at a later date. Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH has care of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA 01832.
