Elinor M. (Kiley) Kelly, 89, passed away on September 29, 2012 in Emeritus Assisting Living. She was the wife of the late Roland D. Kelly with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn on April 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace (Galeucia) Kiley. She was raised and educated in W. Peabody. Prior to her marriage she was employed as an operator at the telephone company. Elinor had resided in Danvers for much of her life and raised her family there. She was an avid sports enthusiast, who was on a championship basketball team in high school. She especially enjoyed the Boston Bruins and Red Sox. Elinor also enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her children, Daniel R. Kelly and his wife Tina of Danvers, Brian D. Kelly and his wife Sherry of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Cathleen Kavanagh and her husband Arthur of Danvers and Neil Kelly and his companion Wanda Brown of Plaistow, NH, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her five brothers, Curtis, Dwight, Roger (KIA WWII), Ralph (KIA WWII) and Kendall (WWII Veteran) Kiley.
Elinor’s funeral services are private at the requests of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elinor’s name of the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
