Obituary

Lach, Dorothy M. (Herndon) of Quincy, passed away October 2, 2012. She was 93.

Born in Rocky Mount, NC, Dot grew up in Baltimore where she attended the Maryland Art Institute. During WWII she worked for the Navy Officer’s Club in Virginia where she met her husband Michael Joseph Lach. They moved to Quincy where she has lived for the last 63 years. Dot studied real estate and worked for Corcoran Management Company for 20 years until retiring in 1990. Dot painted lovely portraits of children and still life’s and was active in Quincy and Milton Art Associations. She was a member of the DAR, ex-chapter Regent for the Col. Thomas Gardner Chapter. and was active in Cub Scouts, PTA and the Wollaston Mother’s Club. Loved by all, even neighborhood dogs visited her daily for treats.

Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Lach. Devoted mother of Thomas H. Lach and his wife Loraine of Dedham, Stephen C. Lach of Quincy, Martha A. Totten and her husband Norman of Newton and the late Michael J. Lach, Jr. and his wife Edythe Lach of FL. Loving sister of Patricia Barley Shreeve of IL. Cherished grandmother of Tedlin Lach of FL and Julie Totten of Newton. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday Oct. 12th from 5-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

Family and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM on Saturday, Oct. 13th prior to the Memorial service in Forest Hills Cemetery Chapel at 11 AM. Burial will follow.

The family wish to thank the staff at Hancock Park for their loving care of Dot. Donations may be made in her memory to the Hancock Park Alzheimer Recreation Fund Unit, 4 West, 164 Parkingway, Quincy, MA 02169.
