Obituary

AUBURN: Rita A. (Foran) Trombi, 72, of 2 Lady Slipper Lane, formerly of Stebbins St. in Worcester, died peacefully Sunday evening, September 30, 2012 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 32 years, Robert D. Trombi, died November 22, 1993.
She leaves two sons, Robert M. Trombi and his wife Sybille of Gresham, OR, Richard D. Trombi and his wife Linda of Leominster; two daughters, Debra M. Paquette and her partner Paul Judd of Charlton, Ellen F. Ichinose and her husband Eugene of Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren, Benjamin, Liesa and Stefanie Trombi, Christopher Paquette, Megan and Rachel Trombi, Jake, Kate and Oscar Ichinose; many cousins and extended family. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late P. Richard and Gertrude F. (Roughan) Foran and was a graduate of David Hale Fanning High School. She lived most of her life in Worcester until moving to Auburn in 1996.
Rita was the Accounts Payable Supervisor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Central Mass. Area Department of Mental Health, where she worked from 1978 until she retired. She was a member of North American Martyrs Church and a former member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church in Worcester. Prior to her illness she was an active volunteer for Why Me & Sherry’s House and the Be Like Brit Foundation. She lived for her grandchildren and devoted her life to them.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the physicians, healthcare providers and Rita’s cousin, Mary Toomey, for their compassionate care.
CALLING HOURS will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on FRIDAY, OCT. 5 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. in Worcester. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 9 A.M. on SATURDAY, OCT. 6 in NORTH AMERICAN MARTYRS CHURCH, 8 Wyoma Dr., in Auburn. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
