Elizabeth M. (McMonigle) Johnson, 66, of Franklin died September 29 in Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Colonel Robert J. Johnson USAR, who died in 1986.
Born in Queens, New York, November 6, 1945, the daughter of the late George and Annie (Young) McMonigle, Mrs. Johnson was raised in New York City and had lived in Framingham for several years prior to moving to Medway where she lived from 1978 until moving to Franklin in 2001.
Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Misericordia School of Nursing.
A Registered Nurse, she had worked for many years at the Medway Country Manor.
She is survived by her children, Mark E. Johnson and his wife Miriam of Athens, Georgia, Brian J. Johnson and his wife Kendra of Franklin, Maribeth A. Johnson-Flakes and her husband John Flakes of Milton and Michael P. Johnson and his wife Laura of Medford.
She is also survived by her siblings, MaryAnne Muhs of Port Charlotte, Florida, Kay Marker of Malverne, New York, George McMonigle of Honolulu, Hawaii, Robert McMonigle of San Diego, California and James McMonigle of Wakefield, Rhode Island.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert, Andrew, Eliana and Isaac.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday October 4 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin 131 Main Street in Franklin at 9:00 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Medway at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
