Obituary

Hortense L. “Lee” Lemoine, 83, of Front St., formerly of Willow St., Woonsocket, died Sunday morning at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Normand Lemoine.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Edwina (Richards) Benoit. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life.
Mrs. Lemoine was employed by American Tourister and Healthtex Corporations for many years before retiring in 1982.
Lee was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of Les Dames de St. Anne. She volunteered her time with the Cub Scouts and CYO. Lee was honored, along with her late husband Normand, for volunteering their time at Landmark Medical Center.
Lee loved playing pitch and was a championship card player.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Lemoine, and his wife Diane, of Woonsocket and Donald Lemoine, and his wife Rosemary, of Manville, two daughters Lorraine Carrier of Manville and Pauline Fernier of Jacksonville, FL. She was the mother of the late Elizabeth Day. She was the sister of Elizabeth Lee of Ohio and the late Theodore and Emmanuel Benoit, Pauline Buchannan, Muriel and Yvonne Benoit. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony’s Church, Greene St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of RI, 2348 Post Rd.
