Raymond G. Fontaine, 76, a longtime resident of North Andover, MA, died on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
He was born in Enosburg Falls, Vermont on January 18, 1936 to Joseph T. and Yvonne (Couture) Fontaine. Later brought up and educated in Gardner, MA. He served in the US Army. In the early 70’s he became a Master Electrician. For over 25 years he owned and operated Fontaine Electric until his retirement. He loved to do woodworking and also helped one of his sons build a house.
He leaves his loving wife of 55 years: Madeline (Girard) Fontaine, also his children: Antoine and his wife Lorna of Maryland, Karen Fontaine of Maryland, his daughter-in-law: Mary Fontaine of Minnesota, Cindy and her husband Matthew Van Schalkwyk of Rhode Island, Philip and his wife Anne-Marie Fontaine of Merrimac, MA, Pamela and her husband Edward Goyette of Hampstead, NH, Brian and his wife Joanne Fontaine of North Carolina, Raymond II and his wife Angel Fontaine of Derry, NH, Joseph and his wife Kelly Fontaine of North Andover, MA Predeceased by his son Kevin Fontaine. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, one great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts uncles and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00AM in St. Michael Church in North Andover. A burial will follow at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA.
