Obituary


Charles E. “Charlie” Haskell, 23, of Scituate, formerly of Hanson, died Friday September 28th after a canoe accident in Cohasset. He was the loving son of Cherryl (DeCosta) Haskell and her husband Shawn Thomas and the late Charles Haskell.

He was born in Brockton, bought up in Hanson and Scituate and attended schools in those towns.

Charlie was a sales associate for I Party. He enjoyed fishing with his nieces, nephews and his friends. He was an avid skateboarder and sports fan especially football. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends, especially his favorite cat “Lucy”.

In addition to his mother Cherryl and her husband Shawn, he is survived by his grandmother Dorothy DeCosta of Halifax, his brothers Calvin King and his wife Marsha of Hanson, Christopher King and his wife Christina of Whitman, his step-sisters Laura Thomas, Amy Carroll both of Marshfield and Amanda Thomas of Scituate; also his nieces and nephews Anya, Calvin Jr., Ryan, Eric, Nicolas, Aedan and Adriana, and his cousins Breanna and Brandon.

His services will be held on Wednesday October 3rd at 8:15 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (RT 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will be in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater, MA. Visitation will be on Tuesday Oct 2nd from 4:00-8:00 PM.
