Kevin M. Joyce, age 74 of Brockton, died Thursday September 27, 2012 at Tufts/New England Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband for 49 years of Lois A. (Dunn) Joyce. Born in Brighton and raised in South Boston, Kevin had been a resident of Brockton for the past 35 years. During the Vietnam Era he served in the US Army.
Kevin worked for many years with the MBTA and retired as a supervisor in 1993. He had been a member of the Carmen’s Union Local #589. Kevin enjoyed watching hockey and western movies and playing golf in his younger years. Kevin’s true joy in life was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kevin was the loving father of Marguerite Joyce and her fiancé Gregory Wilson of Brockton, Kelli Sullivan and her husband Larry of Brockton and the late Steven M. He leaves seven grandchildren Heather Blanchard, Steven, Scott and Ryan Sullivan, Kevin and Michael Joyce and Bryan Wilson and three great grandchildren. He was the brother of Judith Ostiguy and Robert Joyce both of South Boston and the late Patrick, Brendan, Owen and Edward Joyce, Margaret Curran and Mary Crumby. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 5-8 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 am for a Funeral Mass at Christ The King Parish at 9 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
