Obituary

Mark Serge Grandoni, 55, of Kapa'au HI, formerly of Natick died unexpectedly Sept. 3, 2012. Born in Framingham Oct. 12, 1956 he was the son of Sergio Grandoni of Millis and the late Mary A. (Dimitri) Grandoni who died in 2001.Mark was the co-founder of Eye of the Whale, former owner of Kohala Kayaks, and President of Kako'o, a group to preserver the North Kohala Coastline. He was a USCG licensed captain and worked for Jupiter Research Foundation developing marine technology. He lived in Hawaii for over 30 years and enjoyed outdoor expeditions both on land and at sea; he was also an avid twighlight photographer. Mark attended the Natick school system and graduated from Natick High School class of 1974.

In addition to his father , he is survived by two daughters Jessica and Maya Goodoni of Kapa'au HI,his former wife Beth Goodwin of Kapa'au, one sister Robin Zonghi of Northbridge, and three nieces.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life was held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the LSV Landing in Kawaihae, Hawaii, followed by a flotilla of vessels to escort this life long mariner out to sea.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Jessica and Maya Goodoni at the Kohala Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union, in care of Beth Goodwin, P. O. Box 520, Kapa'au, Hawaii 96755.
