LEICESTER: Anna M. (Saliuta) Kilmonis 98, of Charlton St., in the Rochdale section of Leicester, died Friday, Sept. 28 at The Lutheran Home in Worcester.
She was the wife of Adam Kilmonis who died in 1959. She leaves her daughter Joanne Chabala and her husband Frank of Mt.Pocono, Pa., three brothers Vitautas, Vaclas and Juazas Saliuta all of Lithuania, six grandchildren; David P. Kilmonis and his wife Christine, Paula M. Bartkus and her husband Philip, Susan J. Smith and her husband Robert, Dawn M. Ollander and her husband Eric, Donna L. Hegwood and her husband Keith and Frank Chabala and his wife Tammy, ten great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Edmund J. Kilmonis in 2008 and a sister Marsala Sokol.
Anna worked at Worcester State Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 1978. Previously, she worked at Washburn Co. in Worcester for 23 years. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Mike and Ann (Cuniute) Saliuta and lived in Worcester for most of her life before moving to Rochdale in 1997.
She was a member of the original St. Catherine of Sweden Church and Maronis Park in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the caring staff on the second floor at The Lutheran Home.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 1, from the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 11a.m. in Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 30 from 3 to 5p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to the Lutheran Home, 26 Harvard St., Worcester, Ma. 01609.
