Obituary

Amesbury: Peter J. Raymond, age 68, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday September 25, 2012. He was the husband of Setsu (Sanagawa) Raymond with whom he shared 45 of years of marriage.

Born in Peabody and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Hector J. and Evelyn (Howard) Raymond. Following his graduation from Salem High, he joined the Marine Corps, and served three tours of reconnaissance duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he returned to Salem where he owned and operated Raymond Office & Postal Equipment Service until 1994.

Peter was a member of the VFW Post 1524 of Salem and the VFW Post 29 of Amesbury.
He was also a member of the PLAV Post 55 and the Crow II Club, both of Salem. He and his wife currently resided in Amesbury, MA.

In addition to his wife Setsu, he is survived by a son, Hector P. Raymond and his wife Heather of Amesbury, a daughter, Yoshie Jepson and her husband Scott of Peabody, a brother, David Raymond and his wife Miriam of Groveland, 3 sisters, Joanne Birmingham of N. Canton, OH, Ethel E. Sullivan and her husband John, Roseanne Dassuk all of Lady Lake, FL, 5 grandchildren, Samantha & Daniel Jepson, Sarina, Lacey & Nixie Raymond, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Chouinard.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] from 2:00 to 4:00 PM to be followed by a remembrance service at 4:00 P.M.
