Worcester — Joan L. (Klingloff) Foss, formerly of Westborough and Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Knollwood Nursing Center at Briarwood. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Frank H. Foss of Briarwood; a daughter, Sharon E. Grattan of Holland, MA; two sons, Glenn A. Foss of Parsons, KS and David R. Foss and his wife Isha L. Foss of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Ann P. Newman and her husband Ralph “Ric” Ricciardelli of Pompano Beach, FL; 4 grandchildren, Christopher N. Grattan of West Palm Beach, FL, Stephanie M. Janulewicz, Miles Pruitt, and Hope Foss all of Chesapeake, VA; and 4 great-grandchildren, Brianna and Brady Grattan and Maddox and Liam Janulewicz.
Joan was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Mabel Helen (Johnson) Klingloff Jaillet and Milton Robert Klingloff. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and worked at Paul Revere Life Insurance and Westborough Public Schools. Joan dearly loved her family and spent as much time with them as possible. She also liked to travel, read, watch movies, go on rambling walks, and research family genealogy. She was proud of her Swedish heritage. Joan was loved by all - family and friends - who will sorely miss her.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the entire Briarwood Community, Knollwood Nursing Center, and Beacon Hospice for their care and assistance during her illness.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Sunday, Sept. 30, from 3-6 pm. The funeral will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, Monday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 am. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Following the burial, a celebration of life will be held in the West Boylston Room at Briarwood, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester MA 01606.
