Obituary

CHICOPEE – Adrienne O. (Beaudry) Hammond, 95, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Willimansett Center East Nursing Home. She was born at home in Aldenville on April 18, 1917, a beloved daughter of the late Alberic and Marie Louise (Paquette) Beaudry. She was raised and attended schools in Aldenville and lived in Elmsford, NY for 30 years and White Plains, NY for 11 years before returning to Aldenville in 1990. Active in her faith, she was a former communicant of Mount Carmel Church in Elmsford and Saint Bernard Church in White Plains and a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Upon returning to Aldenville, she truly enjoyed her time at The Arbors in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dow S. Hammond, Jr. who died on December 22, 1976. They were married at Sainte Rose de Lima Church on August 5, 1943 and were blessed with over 33 years of happiness together. She leaves her six loving children, Dow S. Hammond, III and his wife, Ann, of Lexington, SC; Louise M. Hammond of Deltona, FL; Jean S. Earley and her husband, Frank, of Garden City, SC; Kathy A. Charner and her husband, Ivan, of Silver Spring, MD; Albert J. Hammond and his wife, Nancy, of Geismar, LA; and Gerard J. Hammond and his wife, Sherri, of Brodheadsville, PA; her 15 cherished grandchildren; her 19 cherished great grandchildren; her cherished great great grandson; her dear brother, Larry Beaudry and his wife, Mary, of Norristown, PA; her dear sisters, Lucille Granger of Chicopee and Marcelle Russell of Cherry Hill, PA; her dear sister in law, Susie Beaudry of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brothers, Leonard, Albert, Gerard, and Clem Beaudry. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, October 1, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at a later date at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, the Epilepsy Foundation, PO Box 96548, Washington, DC 20077-7222, or the National MS Society, 733 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017.
