Austin, Robert T., Sr. "Bob" of Quincy June 1, 2004.

Beloved Husband of Karen (Williams). Loving Father of Pamela M., Robert T., Jr., Jennifer L., Brent C. and Keith R., all of Quincy. Devoted Grandfather of Patrick Hannan. Cherished Son of Patricia M. (Murphy) of Braintree and the late Donald F. Austin, Sr. Loving Brother of Mark of Holbrook, Patricia Blydenburgh of NH, Paula of Braintree, David of Lakeville, James of Quincy, Steven of Braintree and the late Donald F. Austin, Jr. Grandson of the late Thomas Murphy. Uncle to the late Evan Thomas Austin. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives.

Bob was born in Dorchester and lived the rest of his life in Gernamtown and West Quincy. He played football for Quincy High School graduating in 1969. He later attended Fischer Junior College studying computer science earning an 4.0 average. His first job of which he was very proud and mentioned many times throughout his life was at Ashmont Discount. He later worked at Prudential Insurance, Gallagher News Agency in Quincy, Analog Devices and Faxon Publishing in Westwood. He was a systems programmer for Fidelity Investments before his position as Assistant Vice President at Putnam Investments, in charge of their on-line systems. He coached for Quincy Youth Baseball for 25 years involved in their Jr. Farm, Little and Babe Ruth Leagues. He also coached for the Hough's Neck Legion Team. Bob coached Quincy Youth Soccer and Sacred Heart Basketball for many years. He loved to take his family on the road for vacations every summer to see America and they covered 45 states, Canada and Mexico. He also traveled to Ireland. A man of many talents and hobbies he was a certified scuba diver, skiier, boater, woodworking enthusiast, Red Sox and Patriots fan and an active member of MA Citizens for Life. He loved doing household renovation projects. Bob enjoyed spending time with his large extended family on holidays.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Saturday at 11 AM.

Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM and Friday 4-8 PM.

Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
