Manchester– Bernard O. Fenton, 88, died September 25, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on February 18, 1924 the son of Robert W. and Mathilda (Rounseville) Fenton. He had been a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Bernard worked at Sundeen Lumber from 1946 to 1951, then worked for J. Schwartz Motor Transport from 1951 to 2001, retiring after 50 faithful years of service to the company.
He was a life member of the East Side Club
Family members include his wife of 54 years, Doris (Duhaime) Fenton of Manchester, one brother, Robert Fenton of Orleans, VT., one niece, Sue Heino of Pittsfield, one grand nephew Keith Doucette of Pittsfield.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2 to 5 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, corner of Belmont and Harvard Sts. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
