Obituary

DIGHTON – Clinton E. Rose, husband of Adele M. (Torres) Rose of Dighton, died at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River on Sept. 24, 2012.
He was 89.
Born in Rehoboth, he was the son of the late Manuel and Martha (Daley) Rose.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Rose was educated in Rehoboth and Swansea schools, and was a graduate of Case High School.
An Army Veteran of WWII, he fought with the 28th Infantry in many battles, including the Battle of the Bulge.
For over sixty years, he owned and operated Dighton’s former Red & White Market on Main St.
He retired four years ago.
A communicant of St. Patrick Church in Somerset, Mr. Rose was a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and was a life member of the former Raposa-Knott VFW Post 2094 of N. Dighton.
He was Veteran of the Year in 2006.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, he leaves a son, Michael S. Rose and his wife Nancy of Dighton; two brothers, Robert Rose of Rehoboth and Henry Rose of Swansea; two sisters, Evelyn Bois of Rehoboth and Jeanette Jacques of Taunton; four grandchildren, Kathleen, Michelle, Michael, and Lauren Rose; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Lester Rose and Dorothy Borges.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Sept. 28th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick Church, Somerset at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 27th from 4 to 7 p.m.
