Obituary

Marie "Puddin" Fields Harper, 71, of Moultrie died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Danny Rowan, Jody Johnson, Steve Johnson, Ronnie Field, Michael Johnson, Randy Rowan and Jackie Kitchens will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Harper was born on May 25, 1941 in Colquitt County and was the daughter of George Fields and Doshie Lawson Fields, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Harper; one daughter, Lana Marie Griffin; three brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Colquitt County.

Mrs. Harper is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Dale and Christine Harper of Tifton and Ricky Lee and Cynthia Harper of Crosland; one daughter, Linda Harper Bryan of Arizona; three sisters, Lorene Dixon of Omega, Christine Hamm of Moultrie and Jo Johnson of Moultrie; nine grandchildren, Jacee Harper, Jade Harper, Tyler Bryan, Samantha Bryan, Lindsey Lovett, Ricky Harper Jr., Dustin Griffin, Levi Griffin and Jessika Griffin; three great-grandchildren, Landon Griffin, Tucker Lovett and Reid Lovett; and a special friend, George Ingle of Moultrie.
