Lawrence, MA – Carol E. ( Stevens) O’Dowd, 86, and a former Methuen and Seabrook, NH resident died Monday September 24, 2012 at the Berkeley Nursing Center.
She was born in Lawrence,the daughter of Ellsworth and Norah (Moone) Stevens and was a graduate of Saint Patrick’s High School in South Lawrence.
Carol for more than 20 years had been employed with AT&T of Lawrence before her retirement in 1984.
She was a former past president of the Methuen Women’s Civic Club, Very active in the Edward F. Searles PTA, a volunteer for many years at the Holy Family Hospital and very involved in the Methuen Senior Citizens Center.
Mrs. O’Dowd was the widow of William T. O’Dowd, Sr. and is survived by children;daughter Jean M. O’Dowd and her companion Clarence Anderson of Methuen, and sons William T. O’Dowd, Jr and his wife Maureen of Methuen, Michael C. and his wife Mary Ellen O’Dowd of Bradford and Peter J. O’Dowd and his wife Lisa J. of Amesbury, Ma.
6 grandchildren; Patrick, Katherine, Spencer, Devon, Elizabeth, and Steven as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 o’clock from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 3-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
