Obituary

Roger S. Aylward 69, a longtime Franklin resident, died peacefully Wednesday September 19, 2012 on his birthday at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Needham, September 19, 1943 a son of the late Edgar P. and Ruth W. (Hunt) Aylward he was raised and educated in Needham, and was a 1962 graduate of Needham High School. Mr. Aylward was a retired home mortgage broker.
He was an active and longtime member of the Franklin Lions Club. He served as club president from 1998-1999 and then again from 2000-2003. He was also active in the Massachusetts District 33K Lions and served on the Eyemobile board of directors. He was instrumental in building up the Franklin Lions Club membership and played an important part in the local club receiving the Best Small Club distinction several years ago. He loved fishing, hunting NFL football, and drag racing. He was also a Class A mechanic. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by 2 children, Roger H. and Kristina B., his 4 grandchildren, and his loving companion Helene Daoust of Franklin, his longtime neighbors and friends Judith F. Sawyer, Mark, Jake, & Madeline Sawyer all of Franklin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral, a Lions Necrology Service Sunday Sept, 23rd, at 5PM in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com.
His interment will be held privately in New Hampshire.
Calling hours are Sunday from 3-5PM.
