Ellen M. (Quill) Arenburg, 88 years, of Brockton died September 22, 2012 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis. She was the wife of the late Harris C. Arenburg.
Ellen was born in Brockton to the late Edward and Mary (Greaney) Quill. She was a 1942 graduate of Brockton High School and a 1946 graduate of Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. During her training she was assigned as a nurse cadet for 6 months to St. Albans Naval Hospital in Long Island, NY. For 44 years she worked as a registered nurse in several departments at Brockton Hospital. She was a former member of St. Richards Catholic Nurses Guild and a longtime communicant of the former St. Colman Church now Christ the King Parish in Brockton.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Arenburg and his wife Mary Jane of Hingham and William Arenburg of FL; 3 grandchildren Julia, Alex and Lars Arenburg and a sister Agnes T. Quill of Brockton. She was also the sister of the late Timothy B. Quill.
Visitation Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123), Brockton. A funeral procession will form from the funeral home Thursday at 8am for a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
