Richard E. Ash, 72, passed away in his home on September 20, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Nancy (Hjelm) Ash with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.
Born in Topsfield on June 7, 1940, he was the son of the late Elmer and Eleanor (Raymond) Ash. Richard was raised and educated in Topsfield and graduated from Topsfield High School in 1959. He was a resident of Danvers for 23 yrs. and resided in Middleton for the past 30 yrs. Richard was a machinist for Walbar Inc. for 30 yrs, Middleton Aerospace and A & A Machine until his retirement in 2011. He was also an avid sports fan.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his children: Richard and Lisa Ash; C. Diane and Jeffrey Van Knowe; R. David and Karen Ash and Susan and Christopher Ayles all of Danvers and Kristy Nalesnik of Middleton, his grandchildren: Ashley, Jeffrey, Jason, Megan, Christina and Teagan, and his brother Robert Ash and wife Patricia of Maine
A Graveside Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at 10AM in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. A Celebration of Life will continue following the service in Dick (Brud) and Nancy’s home at 184 Essex Street, Middleton. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
