Marie Bible Kieran of Dover, MA and formerly of Pawling, NY and Livingston, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, September 21, 2012. She was 87 years old and died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. A homemaker, Marie was born on July 1, 1925 in Westchester Square, Bronx, NY to James J. Bible and Marie Reid Bible.
On June 5, 1948, Marie married the love of her life, William C. Kieran. They were happily married for 62 years and together raised seven children, residing in Livingston, NJ for 25 years and then Pawling, NY for 34 years. An intuitive and understanding soul, Marie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was everything to her, and she spent her life quietly thinking of, caring, and doing for others. She will be remembered always and deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband, William C. Kieran, and her dear son, William M. Kieran. She is also predeceased by her sister, Margaret McNamee and brother, James Bible. Marie is survived by her son, Stephen Kieran (Barbara) of Moylan, PA and daughters: Elizabeth McMahon (Dennis) of Chestnut Hill, MA, Eileen Sinnott (Edward) of Mt. Kisco, NY, Marie E. Kieran (Frank Stufano) of Dover, MA, Kathleen Stone of Barrington, RI, Margaret Kramer (Scott) of Chalfont, PA and her daughter-in-law Allison Gay Kieran of Randolph, NJ. Marie was also a loving “Nana” to 15 grandchildren: William Lee Kieran and his wife, Christine, Kevin, Christopher and Caitlin Kieran, Christine, Dennis and Matthew McMahon, Daniel, Edward and William Sinnott, Nicholas and Francesca Stufano, Alexander Stone, and Kieran and Austin Kramer. Additionally, Marie is survived by a great granddaughter, Caleigh Marie Kieran, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 39 East Main St., Pawling, NY at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in memory of Marie B.
