Obituary

William F. Hall, 97, of Worcester, died Thursday, September 20th in the Life Care Center of Auburn. His wife of 50 years, Jean B. (Root) Hall, died in 1998. He leaves his close friends, Denise and James Collins of Worcester and two nephews, Jeffrey L. Hall of Amherst, NH, and William C. Hall, MD, of West Hartford, CT.

He was born in Worcester, the son of William E. and Mary G. (Lee) Hall and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1937 with a BS in chemistry; he stayed on as a student instructor, and received his MS degree in chemistry in 1939. Mr. Hall spent 40 years teaching chemistry and physics in the high schools of Worcester and had also taught part time at the former Worcester Evening Division of Northeastern University and Worcester Junior College. He retired in 1978. He had a longtime interest in postage stamps, autographs, and old printed material.

The funeral is Monday, September 24th with a service at 11:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A visiting hour is from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the funeral home
