Larry Wayne Kitchens, 62, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Tifton, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at his residence in Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Sam Maves will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Lunch will be provided by the family immediately following the service at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Larry was born on January 9, 1950 in Moultrie and was the son of Roy Huey Kitchens and Veda Alexander Kitchens, both deceased. Larry grew up in Tifton and lived in South Georgia most of his life. He lived in Nebraska and Iowa the last several years. Larry was loved by many who enjoyed his good humor and nature and he will be missed by family and friends.
Larry is survived by his brother, Roy Kitchens of Doerun; a sister, Irma K. Chriscoe of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; his aunts, Reba A. Moncus of Leesville, Edna A. Schell of Duluth, Bernice A. Harrell of Snellville, Rosaline Alexander of Forest Park, Mary Lou Kitchens of Thomaston, Anna Laura Kitchens of Omega and Billie Hood of Kite; his uncle, Colin Kitchens of Vidalia; nieces and nephews, Gina Lee of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kyle Stembridge of Apex, North Carolina, Wade Kitchens of Culberson, Brett Kitchens of Funston and Ashley Roberson of Raleigh, North Caroling
