John Reed Willson, 88, of Clarksville, TN, died on Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born on January 31, 1924 in Stewart County, Tennessee to the late James Edward Willson and Berta Ford Willson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys York Willson and two sisters, Ella Lee Frost and Vonzell Dennis.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Byron Dumas officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. with a Masonic Service to follow and Monday, September 24, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in WWII. He also worked with civil service at Ft. Campbell and as a custodian at East Montgomery Elementary School. He was a 50 year member of Forest Street United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge 761.
He is survived by his son, Donald Reed Willson of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Teresa Bracy (Bob) of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, Christy Pennington (Chris), Lori Wargo, Rachel Noles (Josh), and Daniel Willson; and six great grandchildren, Kiersten Bracy, Bryce Wargo, Sophie Fields, Piper Pennington, Paisley Pennington, and Jacob Noles.
Pallbearers will be Derek York, Stanley York, Jr., Chris Pennington, Randy Frost, Johnny Dennis, and Josh Noles.
