Obituary

Eddie was taken from all of those who cherished him on September 13, 2012. “May he always be an angel on our shoulders.”

He graduated Fitch High School in Groton in 1973. He was employed by Pfizer, Thames Valley Steel, Olympic Sporting Goods, Groton Recreation and Sound Community Services.

Eddie was an avid Red Sox & Giants fan and was always talking politics. He loved to play soccer, as well as coaching in the Groton Recreation Youth League for many years. He was a member of the Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church and choir. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and going on long walks with his canine friends. His humbleness and kindness enabled him to know a diversity of people. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend to all of those that he touched in his life.

Eddie is predeceased by his father William C. Evans Jr. He is survived by his mother Barbara Evans of Groton. 2 daughters...Heather Jean & Dawn Marie. 3 sisters…Patricia Schuyler & her husband James from Groton, Susan Roberts of Groton, & Rose Carvalho & her husband Tony from Ledyard. 3 brothers…Robert Evans & his wife Diana from Ledyard, Richard Evans of North Stonington & William Evans of Groton. He adored his 43 nieces & nephews. He will be forever missed by family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday, September 28th at 6pm.
