KLEPONIS, ELEANORA EMELIA (JUREWICH) of South Boston passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, September 18th at Marian Manor. She was 92 years old. Eleanora is survived by her husband of 72 years Albert (94) who resides at Marian Manor as well. Eleanora also leaves her daughter Eleanor Symolon & husband Walter of South Weymouth, her son Paul & his wife Bonnie of Miami Florida, her grandchildren Eleanor Prosper & her husband David of Pembroke, Jennifer Hogue & her husband Jessie of Germany, Karen Lombardo & her husband Marc of Mansfield, Donna Symolon of Boston, Joseph Symolon & his wife Beth of South Boston, Kevin & Peter Kleponis of Florida, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandson, several sisters-in-law Mary, Ann, Anna, Frances, Sister Christine CJC, Virginia, Helen, a brother-in-law Vincent & many nieces & nephews.
Eleanora is predeceased by her parents Eleonore & Joseph Jurewich, her brothers Stanley, Rev. Henry, SJ, Francis & Joseph, her son Albert David & her grandson Peter.
She went to St. Raphael Grammar School & Hyde Park High.
Eleanora was Past President of Don Bosco Mothers’ Club & the Cardinal Cushing Guild.
She was a stay at home mom but devoted hours to charity work at her Parish, the children’s schools & for the Sisters of Jesus Crucified.
Eleanora was an accomplished seamstress & enjoyed crocheting, embroidery & making jewelry as well. She enjoyed cake decorating, gardening vegetables & flowers, flower arranging & various other craft projects. To keep her mind sharp Eleanora devoured crossword puzzles.
Eleanora’s visiting hours will be held at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St., South Boston on Sunday September 23 from 2 to 6 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Peter Lithuanian Church Monday at 10 AM. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
