Mark J. Gilmartin of Plymouth, 74, died unexpectedly at Jordan Hospital September 18. Beloved husband of Sally J. (Harlow) Gilmartin of Plymouth. Father of Mark Gilmartin of New Market, MD, Peter Gilmartin of Easton, Kent Gilmartin of Sand Springs, OK. And Erica Lunn of Coatesville, PA. He also leaves two sisters Ellen Smithson of Halifax, and Sally Nelson of Carver, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mark was born in Rockland the son of Peter and Hilda (Chase) Gilmartin. He graduated from Rockland High School and served 2 years in the U.S. Army. He then attended the Vaughn Barber School. Mark worked as a driver and a manager for United Parcel Service. He enjoyed both fresh and salt water fishing and gardening.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 619 State Road (Rte 3A) Plymouth, (Manomet) on Tuesday September 25 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a memorial service to be held at 7:00 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-4688. Burial will be private.
