MILLBURY – Albert P. “Big Al” Noiseux, 67, of Millbury, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at UMASS Medical Center.
Al and his wife, Eleanor T. (Kash) Noiseux were best friends and companions for 42 years; he also leaves a brother, Robert and his wife Denise Noiseux of Brooklyn, CT; two sisters, Anna and her husband James Naum of Thompson, CT and Gloria and her husband James Singleton of North Grosvenordale, CT; his Uncle, Armur (Buster) Houle; and several nephews and nieces to whom he was affectionately known as Uncle Fafa.
Al was born in Webster and brought up in N. Grosvenordale, CT, a son of Ange A. and Cecile (Houle) Noiseux. He graduated with honors from St. Joseph School, North Grosvenordale, CT as class president, class of 1963. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Russian History and minored in French from University of Connecticut in Storrs. He was also an Army veteran who served in Panama in Communications.
Al was a warehouse manager for Sweet Life for 20 years; worked as operations manager for Martin Brower; managed Costa Fruit; worked as warehouse manager at The Boston Food Bank; and finally worked for 11 years as a window clerk for the Post Office in Clinton retiring in 2008.
Al loved to golf and was a fan of football, baseball and horse racing. He was very particular about his music, enjoying New Orleans jazz and the early blues. He was a prolific reader of paleontology, archeology, Russian history and cook books to name a few of the subjects that had captured his enthusiastic interest. He especially enjoyed reading with his Kindle and Kindle Fire.
Funeral services for Al will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, MA.
