Mr. Frank V. Jonis, of Dighton, died Sunday, September 16 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Emma J. (Leonowicz) Jonis. He was born 95 years ago in Brockton, the son of the late Silvester and Ona (Jarusericuite) Jonis. He was educated in Brockton and had been a Dighton resident for the past 8 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a custodian for the Taunton School Department for 6 years. He was previously employed at both the Paul A. Dever State School and Taunton State Hospital for many years. Frank was formerly employed at Harco Farms in Easton. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed attending the Prime Time Adult Day Program in Dighton.
He leaves: 1 daughter: Mary Ann Deveney and her husband, James of Dighton, and 2 granddaughters: Colleen McElroy of Taunton and Erin Deveney of Taunton.
A private Funeral Service was held at the convenience of the family. Interment was in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting Hours were respectfully omitted. Arrangements were under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
