Lowell Thompson, Sr., age 80 of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 6, 1932 to the late John Cecil Thompson and Laurise Marie Sherman Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby "Jean" Thompson; son, Tony Russell Thompson and grandson, SPC Joshua Lee Plocica.
Mr. Thompson was retired from Jenkins and Wynne with 20 years service and the family would like to say a special "thank you" to Don Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 3:30 p.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. Chad Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. and Friday, September 21, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Lowell is survived by his children, Diana Matthews (Steve), Lowell "Keith" Thompson, Jr. (Lisa), and Todd Thompson (Debra Joiner), all of Clarksville, TN; brother, John Howard Thompson of Pinehurst, ID; three sisters, Lois Allene Mohr, Sharon Joy Alexander and Theresa Phyllis Meeks, all of Superior, MT; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Murray Keeter, F.C. Lehman, Shaun Jones, Bud Stump, John Davidson and Zachary Matthews.
