Louise Hayes, 84, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 in UMASS Hospital. She leaves 3 nephews - Robert Girard, Alan Leavy, and Douglas Leavy; and 1 niece Diana. She was predeceased by 3 sisters - Gertrude Hayes, Irene Leavy and Ethel Johnson, and 1 brother George Hayes.
Louise was born in Worcester, daughter of George and Nellie (Weldon) Hayes. She graduated from St. Stephen's High School and worked for many years as a secretary to various generals at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She also worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. She was a very active woman who enjoyed traveling all over the world during her retirement.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
