Rita A. Geddes
of Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY: Rita A. (O'Brien) Geddes, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for 35 years, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012, at the Life Care Center in Billerica.
She was the beloved wife of Stanley A. Geddes, with whom she celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 25, 2012.
Born in Lowell on August 31, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William O'Brien and the late Catherine (Gray) O'Brien.
Rita was raised in Lowell, attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.
She was a parishioner of St William Church in Tewksbury.
Following her marriage, Rita devoted her life to providing a caring and loving home for her family.
She was a member and volunteer of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Center.
Rita enjoyed reading, crochet, and her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Steven J. Geddes and his wife Marilyn of Parish, FL, Susan J. Southard and her husband Gary of Tewksbury, Kathleen A. Treleaven and her husband James of Ponca City, OK and Barbara A. Danecki and her husband Daniel of Tewksbury; eight grandchildren, Amy Donato, Jenny Candor, Kerry Mercer, Steven Southard, Carolyn Wisnowski, Matthew Danecki, Eric and Scott Treleaven; ten great grandchildren, Michael, Emma and Matthew Donato, Patrick, Christopher, Brianna, and Brendan Candor, Myles and Charlotte Wisnowski, and Skylar Southard; one sister, Frances O'Donnell and her husband John of Largo, FL; one brother, John O'Brien and his wife Suzanne of Norristown, PA.
Rita was the sister of the late Raymond and William O'Brien, Catherine Ellis, Theresa Pedreira. Calling hours will be Thursday, Sept. 20, from 4-8 p.m., (G.A.C. Service at 4:30 p.m.)at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Oblate Father’s Infirmary Fund, 486 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
