Gladys B. York, 95, of Derry, NH died Monday morning May 31, 2004 in the Haven Health Center, Derry. Mrs. York was born in Waverly, NY on October 8, 1908, a daughter of the late Fred and Olive (Losee) Hewitt. She had resided in Derry since 1991, formerly living in Marilla, NY for 41 years. Mrs. York served as past State President of the NY State Federation of Home Bureaus. She had been a member of the Marilla Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens of Marilla. She had also served as past President of the Maplewood Cemetery Association in Marilla.
She is survived by two sons, Donald W. York of Derry, Robert K. York of Arlington, VA, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, June Rogers of Minneapolis, MN, also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry W. York in 1992.
There no calling hours. Following cremation, Mrs. York will be buried with her husband in Maplewood Cemetery, Marilla, NY. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling arrangements.
