Edmond Irving Kennedy of Reading, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Milford Hospital. He was 91 years of age.
Born in Malden, Edmond was the loving son of the late John Kennedy and Josephine (Roberts) Kennedy. Edmond was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Edmond was a dedicated Senior Production Engineer for General Electric for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking. He was very proud that he remodeled his home in Reading. Edmond loved to fly and was especially fond of his trip to Alaska. Upon retirement at age 60, Edmond was most devoted as his role of grandfather. His grandchildren were his world.
Edmond was the beloved husband of Harriet (Beatteay) Kennedy. He was the devoted father of Linda Gans and her husband Gary of Mendon and John “Jack” Kennedy and his wife Edith of Chelmsford. Edmond was the cherished grandfather of Julia Gans, Jordan Gans and his wife Dorcas, all of Mendon and Andrew Kennedy of Chelmsford. He was the loving great grandfather of Maria Gans and Benjamin Gans. Edmond was the dear brother of Roy Kennedy and his wife Gail of AL, and the late Minerva Locke, Mona McLaughlin, Walter Kennedy and Stanley Kennedy. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Burial was in Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
