Powers, David “Dave”, 78, passed away September 14, 2012 at Baptist East Hospital. Dave was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Ingram & Associates as a Regional Manager and after retirement was the owner and operator of Power Tan. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church- Friendship Club and was an avid UK fan.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Col. Lawrence Powers and sister, Sister Mary Rosa, SCN.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Anne “Betty” (Thompson) Powers; children, Mark Powers, Lisa Powers Burton, Stephanie Powers, and Bridgett Powers Mattingly; grandsons, Bobby Trevor Burton, Aaron Burton, and Brett Mattingly; and sister, Mary Powers Walker (Harry).
Funeral mass will be 10am Tuesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 5505 New Cut Road with burial to follow in St. Martin of Tours Cemetery in Vine Grove, KY. Visitation will be Monday 4:30-9 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
