C. Merrell Hudson

C. Merrell Hudson, age 92, of Anderson died September 14, 2012 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus following an extended illness .
He was born June 19, 1920 in Muncie, Indiana to Vance Raymond and Irene Rudy (Merrell) Hudson.
He graduated from Anderson High School in 1938 and I.U. School of Dentistry in 1944. He was a member of Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity.
From 1945 to 1946 he was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base then returned to Anderson to practice Dentistry and established Dental Program for Indigent Children.
1952 to 1955 San Antonio, TX at Lackland Air Force Base where he served as a dentist for the Navy. He returned to Anderson in 1955 to resume dental practice.
He was a member of Indiana University marching 100; Kiwanis Club; Anderson Country Club and he served as Elder and Deacon at Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his 4 children Christie(Marvin) Lee of Reno, NV; Merrellen (Jack) Robinson of Anderson; Shelley Hudson of Anderson and Dan Hudson of Grand Haven, MI; 6 grandchildren: Chad (Megan) Williams of Greenbrae, CA; Rob (Carla) Williams of Downers Grove, IL; Meredith (Tom) Raubolt of Trenton, MI; Dan (Jennifer) Robinson of Evergreen, CO; Erin Hudson and John Hudson both of Denver, CO; and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ellen (Balfour) Hudson on Dec. 18, 1997.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Noon with calling from 11 AM until the service at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Private burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association.
