Obituary

Robert A. Nadeau, 70, of New Bedford died September 12, 2012 unexpectedly at home.
He was the husband of Ingrid (Aadland) Nadeau.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George T. and Alice (Moreau) Nadeau, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Nadeau was formerly employed by New England Telephone for over 35 years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Canopus.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Jesse Simmons and Carl Simmons and his wife Rachel, all of New Bedford; a daughter, Kristin Cail and her husband Bruce of New Bedford; a brother, George Nadeau of Lakewood, Ohio; 2 sisters, Diane Bielefeld of Dartmouth and Susan Giambo of Woonsocket, RI; 2 grandchildren, Amelia and Eli; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Donald Nadeau.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 16th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Buttonwood Park Zoo, 425 Hawthorn St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
