Margaret Lowey
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother
TEWKSBURY: Margaret (Hutchinson) Lowey, age 76, a resident of Tewksbury for 49 years, passed away at home, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, with her family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Ralph K. Lowey, with whom she celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on February 10, 2012.
Born in Glenboig, Lanarkshire, Scotland on October 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William J. Hutchinson and the late Selina G. (Williamson) Hutchinson.
Margaret was raised Lanarkshire, Scotland, attended Lanarkshire schools and graduated from Lanarkshire High School.
She resided in Boston, MA until moving to Tewksbury in 1963.
Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was employed as an Inspector by the Gillette Corporation in Andover, where she worked for 22 years.
Margaret was a member of the Tewksbury Senior Center.
She enjoyed playing Keno, taking trips to the Foxwoods Resort & Casino, and traveling to Scotland to visit friends and family.
Margaret's greatest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren and her great grandson.
In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by one son, Ralph K. Lowey, Jr. and his wife Eileen (Kiely) of Methuen; six grandchildren, Thomas, Heather, Sean, Ryan, Erin and Kaitlyn Lowey; one great grandson, Colin Lowey; one brother, James Hutchinson and his wife Margaret of Tewksbury; one sister, May Hutchinson of Scotland; numerous nieces and nephews including, Yvonne Hutchinson, Karen Kennedy, Andrea Inzana, Shona Rhine, and Kenneth Hutchinson.
She also leaves many nieces and nephews in Scotland.
Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 14, from 4-7 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
