Obituary

Harley Walter Heilman, 85 of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. He was born January 17, 1927 in Meigs County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Frank Heilman and Virgie Cooper Heilman. He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Heilman; sisters, Flossie Heilman and Hazel Pigott and a nephew, Steven Gillilan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 14th at 9:30 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wesley and Rev. Dr. Karen Barrineau officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Harley was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell. He was a member of St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church for sixty-four years. He was a leader in the church and very active in the Room in the Inn program. Harley was also, a life-long member of the Montgomery County Conservation Club, Montgomery County Laity Club. He was a former member of the Volunteer Fire Fighters of St. Bethlehem and a member of NARFE.
He is survived by a daughter Nita Heilman of Clarksville; a sister Mary Gillilan of Canton, Ohio. seven nephews; Donald, Robert, Charles, Barry, and Larry Harris all of Clarksville and Kenneth and Charles Gillilan both of Canton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2201 Old Russleville Pike, Clarksville, TN. 37040.
