Noemia (Pereira) Torres, age 83 of Fall River, passed away Sep. 11, 2012. She was the wife of the late Alfred Torres. Born in Agua Retorta, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel & Maria de Conceicao “Mariquinhas” Pereira. Prior to retiring, Noemia worked as a Seamstress in the Garment Industry. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.
She is survived by 2 children: Lucy Raposo (husband Tony) of FL and John Torres (wife Kathy) of Swansea; 4 grandchildren: Melinda Holmes, Wayne Torres, Keith Raposo, & John Torres Jr.; 5 great grandchildren: Brooke, Donovan, Shane, Jack, & Alex; siblings: Artemisia Pereira, M. Zelia Resendes, & Joseph C. Pereira all of Fall River; several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Ramiro Pereira.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on SATURDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Seabury St. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
